A Walk through a Winter Wonderland

It’s been unseasonably snowy in Germany, and most days the clouds won’t let the sun come out and play. So you can imagine how everyone takes advantage of the outdoors when the sun does come out. Earlier this week, we drove a little bit up into the higher part of town and the snow really came down. I got some awesome pictures of the fog and snow.

We stopped the car, so I could take some pictures before getting to the trail and these are a few.

Then we arrived at this place that has a cabin that serves hot beverages and waffles topped with cherries and whipped cream. Mmmm…I forgot to take a picture of the waffles I ordered. I took these pictures when we first arrived.

When we got to the trail, we were greeted by these snowmen.

We started to walk the trail before the sun went to bed, and here are a few pictures of what I saw on the trail.

Happy Holidays!

  4. Gosh, between the stunning pictures and the beautiful song on youtube at the top of your blog, I'm all choked up. (Just ask my daughter how I embarrassed her by getting teary-eyed over the beauty of Tennessee when I took her to see a Hannah Montana movie years ago and one scene portrayed a gorgeous panoramic view of the landscape...LOL).

I've decided that you might need a dedicated photog blog, in addition to your foodie blog and regular blog. ;-) The moments and locations you're capturing are amazing!

Sorry I haven't been around either. I'm still trying to teach myself how to navigate my Mac. Hope you're doing well. :)

  5. Barb, I beat you--I cry when I listen to that song. Not only do they sing it beautifully, but it's associated with videos we created for those we lost in our family. The emotions are overwhelming.

I don't think I could find the time for a photog blog too, but thanks for the suggestion.

I'm sure I'll see you around soon after you figure out your Mac.
