Out of the Mouths of Babes

This is a fictional scene, but David’s response is true.

Scene: Family standing in pew in a Catholic church about to shake hands with those around them.

Mom shakes an old man’s hand in front of her saying, “Peace be with you.”

Dad turns and shakes the hands of the young couple behind them saying, “Peace be with you.”

David turns to the woman next to him and says, “May the force be with you.”

My nephew really likes Star Wars.

  1. ROFL! We just watched the Star Wars series again. Every time I heard "May the Force be with you" I waited to hear "And also with you!"

  2. David is so funny. When he likes something, he goes full force... with his light saber.

  5. I thought of this article today at church when it came time for the greeting and saying “peace be with you”. In my mind I was thinking “may the force be with you”. This caused my smile to be a little larger then usual towards my fellow parishioners. :D

  6. And also with you, Veejay. :D When he said it, it echoed throughout the church.

  8. Dear Bea,
Peace is something that will always connect us to the higher source and it is wonderful to hear these experiences exist in every day life.
Just the other day I helped an elderly homeless couple to find directions to a tram stop, and the feeling of peaceness when they both said "May God be with you" spoke out into the connection of greater peace.
    Hope you are well Bea.
    I have missed you!
For I have been away, and now I am back!
