Mirrors have many faces
Actors in front of the lens
Quick flash embraces
While talking with friends
Peek before bowing down
A come-hither gaze
Turn in a white gown
Ignoring obvious clichés
Or sagging of the skin
It doesn’t matter the style
Only why or where you’ve been
Let the best shine for all to see
Looking at your reflection
Remember it will be a decree
So keep that beautiful expression
Much reflecting goes on this time of year, some happy, some poignant. It's all a part of our expression, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteNice, Joanne, I actually didn't think about that when I wrote the poem. It was my mirror that made me think about the many faces its seen and the small flashes of memories. Thanks for stopping by.
ReplyDeleteOh, this is a beautiful reflection. And what a cheery mantel!
ReplyDeleteHey Rachel, I hope you're warm and comfortable in Michigan now. Thanks for the poem compliment and that's my mantel. YAY!
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays!
Lovely, pic, Bea.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kimmi. :D
ReplyDeleteThis reflection of yours is the peace within all of us, when we are tranquille within our natural form. I feel your poem, as I am sure many others do without thinking. :) P.S-I am happy to have found my way back to a part of you on the Internet again.
ReplyDeleteAna, it's nice to hear that you felt my poem. I am also deeply touched by your P.S. comment. I'm glad you're with us. :D
