A week full of activity
Looks forward to quieter times
Able to get back creativity
Find my voice again in rhymes
She’ll be gone in several weeks
Wish her well despite my fate
Loss provokes pain, and weeps
House impeaches our Governor
Finally cutting off the artery
That caused so much dishonor
Sat all day to be questioned
Few weeks long trial heightens
Picked as juror, I’ve been sanctioned
Enjoy the time off from career
Await for America’s day of football
Celebrate with snacks and beers
You always write so beautifully in ryme, especially when you are expressing your day to day experiences. When will your day of being a juror start? I got called for mine when I was 22, studying Legal Studies interestingly enough. It coincided with my law project, and my trips to many courts. I'm happy to know you finally you can view my blog now. Have the continuation of an enjoyable weekend with beers and snacks, and enjoy the football.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the compliment, Ana, I appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteThey have to still pick more jurors. It's rare that they don't pick a jury in one day, but they need to finish it up on Monday. The trial should begin Monday afternoon.
My team isn't in the Super Bowl, so I'll try to enjoy it. :D
Thanks again for stopping by and I will need to catch up on your blog now.
I enjoy the poetry going on here. How refreshing to read about a day/week of life in this way, and it seems like the poetry allows more to be said with fewer words; if you tried to communicate your week in straight narrative, it would've been so much longer. A nice way to learn to make the most of each word (as I go on and on here!)
ReplyDelete:) Thanks, Joanne. You're right about writing this out in narrative, it probably would be long and boring. Not saying this is the best poem, but I think the style in which I chose to relay my week was better.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by.
What a great way to summarize the week. Can't wait to read your recap of jury duty!!
ReplyDeleteHey AmandaLyn!
ReplyDeleteOkay, now the pressures on. Can't talk about the trial now, but I will follow up. Thanks so much for stopping by.
Enjoy your jury duty. It sure is an experience.
ReplyDeleteWhereabouts is your team, if not in the Super Bowl? What is the Super Bowl by the way? I have seen it on AW, but have never fully grasped the gist of what it means.
My team is the Chicago Bears and they didn't make it to the Super Bowl. The Super Bowl (football) is one of the biggest sporting events in the U.S. and that's proven by going shopping today. LOL! Oh heck, I felt like it was Christmas with the crowds and lack of shopping carts.
ReplyDeleteGreat poem, Bea, I always like to see your words in poetry!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week and hugs
Thanks Kimmi. You enjoy too and stay safe.
ReplyDeleteheehee sounds like fun, being in that environment. I have added your blog to my list of kindness awards on my blog - feel free to drop by. :)
