Yesterday, I had the pleasure of escorting my nephew to an egg hunt and he had a great time with his friends. Everyone was amazed at how fast the children picked up the eggs spread around the field so they could turn them in for candy. I had the biggest smile on my face watching my nephew rush for the eggs, only to drop his Superman bucket and lose them, but we picked some up and continued. Ah, to be a kid again and find the little things in life fulfilling. In today’s times, I think this type of reflection is comforting bringing me back to what’s really important, which is family and friends.
Afterwards, the rest of the family joined us for dinner, coloring eggs, along with a “Pin the Tail on the Bunny” contest. We normally do this Easter weekend, but I won’t be here. Happy Pre-Easter Celebration! Have a great day!
Sounds like a wonderful day, and not just because it's Easter. Those eggs are so cute.
ReplyDeleteSometimes it just takes a little effort, but is so worth it finding that comfort in the little things. Walking a dog, your Easter egg hunt, a cup of coffee with a friend. The simplicity of these leaves room for the comfort to shine through. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteTo Joanne - To enjoy the simplest of things is effortless, because they are the things that outshine the comfort. This is the true appreciation of nature in humanity within spirit.
ReplyDeleteJoanne, it does take a little effort for me. I usually get caught up in life with work, family and friends that I forget to smell the roses. I'm going to try to keep simplicity to shine through.
ReplyDeleteAna, well some of us lead busy lives to simple things aren't so effortless. Apparently I don't have a true appreciation of nature, but we're all flawed in some way or another.
Thanks for stopping by ladies.
Bea, your nephew is a lucky lil' guy. Every time you post about him I can feel the aunty luv.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Easter weekend.
