I’m considering doing the National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo). This a writing challenge where you write a 50,000 word novel through the month of November and turn it in on November 30. It isn’t about the quality of the novel it’s quantity. I think it might be good for me to try writing another one. I wrote a novel back in 2003, but it’s been put aside because of the weak story and writing. I’ve branched out by writing short stories and poems, yet I want to know if I have a good novel in me. If and when I turn it into NanNoWriMo, I realize it will be a first draft in poor condition, although I might have the beginnings of a book. Yesterday, I told my brother-in-law about it. He likes to write but hasn’t pursued anything when it comes to writing and submitting somewhere, so this might give him the writing bug.
Anyone else considering NaNoWriMo? If so, let me know and maybe we can keep a tally of how many words a day we’ve written. Wish me luck!
Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI'd join but I'm horrible under that kind of pressure.
Thanks, Shadow!
