Nine Months

Nine months gone
A friend lost too
Grew withdrawn
From feeling blue
Insomnia came
Without a test
Was I to blame
For being a mess?
Asked for aid
Request denied
Sat down to pray
Lost all my pride
Many days past
Outlook cheered
Such a contrast
To what I feared
Today I smiled
Smoking habit quit
Not carrying child
But getting fit.

For all those who kept their quit, or who are still struggling with the addiction, I understand. I hope some day you will want to, and find the strength to conquer it. Good Luck!

  1. Congrats to you. I quit many years ago, and it's amazing how now I don't ever even think of cigarettes! Quitting is so hard, but immensely worth it. Do you feel any of the health benefits yet?

  2. Thanks Joanne. Congrats to you too! It's worth it and cigarette smoke actually bothers me now. Any health benefits? My sniffer is really good. Smell is really heightened, I don't cough, and I can breathe. :D

Cheers to the both of us!

  3. Wonderful poem, Bea! After witnessing the horrible road my FIL went down before losing the battle against lung cancer, it wholly pleases me to hear a friend or relative has given up smoking. Woo hoo and three cheers for you! :P

I hope the hardest part is over, and may you have many, many, many more years of clean air flowing through your lungs! LOL

  4. OMG, it’s Mud! Thank, thank, thank you for stopping by, congratulating me and liking the poem. Yes, it would be a horrible road. I hope my sister and friends that still smoke will overcome this addiction, but it is a hard one and I still understand its hold on people.

The hardest part is over, now I’m getting back into shape. :D

Thanks again, Mud for commenting I can’t tell you how much it means to me.
