A Walk on the Bright Side

I counted each day— butt

The cravings didn’t go away

For three months— butt

My breathing enhanced

Yet nerves were on— fire

It snuffed out slowly chanced

To no longer crave the— fire

Today I took off work—fresh

To observe this crucial goal

That’s given me another year— fresh

With a future I can now control

This is a month to remember— April

Showers soak up the cigarette

Stop me from having a smoke— April

A reminder of losing my life’s threat

  1. Oh Congratulations, you deserve to treat yourself! I quit smoking many years ago, and found it took that whole entire first year for the cravings to subside AND for me to stop even thinking about a cigarette. Enjoy your manicure!

  5. I'm happy your inner willpower acknowledged smoking, and let it go. Did you get a manicure on your fingers or your toes?
