Routine

This is a simple rhymed poem. I wrote it without meter structure.

Routine

The repeat of routine,
such mechanics, obscene

Wake up and move about
without thought, no doubt

Simple chores we inherit
take for granted, zero merit

These ruts can be great,
sometimes leading to hate.

But routine is a must.
Quit complaining—learn to adjust.

Routine and chores,
Bea

  1. A great poem, and also a great reminder that I need to quit complaining and put more writing into my daily routine.

  4. I feel lately that I have been slave to routines. This poem does well to reflect the box I paint myself into.
